The city trumpeter was obliged to perform his duties in the city tower (including watching out fires) and to play the bugle-call in each corner of the tower at noon every day. Unfortunately, at the end of the 18th century the city hall and its towers burnt. Owing to the foundation of Ludwik Mikulski, a local organist had played the bugle-call in the tower of Kalisz collegiate church since 1896. Since 1977 the trumpet signal, composed by Roman Gorzelniak, is played from the tower. The recording was made by Adam Królak – a trumpeter of Kalisz Music School.
