The Stone Bridge or the Bridge of Tzar Alexander 1st

ADDRESS: Śródmiejska
62-800 Kalisz

Built on the Prosna river in 1824-25 under the reign of Tsar Alexander I. The construction of the bridge is supported by 104 oak piles driven into the bottom of the river. Two stone blocks were integrated into the cast-iron balustrade – one has a carved Kalisz coat of arms, and the other – the Latin inscription commemorating the bridge origins.
