A visit to the partner city of Martin
The official delegation included: Tomasz Rogoziński - vice president, Grażyna Dziedziak - head of the Department of Culture and Art, Sport and Tourism, and Agnieszka Tomaszewska, who is involved in international cooperation.
The visit began with a traditional gala at which awards are given to distinguished residents of the city of Martin.
The program also included the International Sausage Festival, which in addition to Slovak teams also involved guests from other partner cities of Martin: Hoogeveen from the Netherlands, Békescsaba from Hungary, Jičín from the Czech Republic and Báčsky Petrovec from Serbia.
During the visit, representatives of Kalisz established cultural contacts. First of all, with artists, Walter Smeitink-Muhlbacher from the Netherlands, which has its atelier ... in the water tower in Wolfheze and Kristina Šubjakova from Martin, who belongs to the Slovak Association of Artists, the oldest artistic association. Contact was made with Martina Harajdičova, one of the leaders of the folk group Kalužiar, and the accordion duo Heligonkári Majerčíkovci, who received an offer to perform in Kalisz as part of events organized by the City of Kalisz.
Vice President Tomasz Rogoziński, however, made contacts in social matters, especially regarding seniors. The activities of 9 senior groups in Martin supervise and support, and one of them directly leads Gizel Ferenczov, who for her many years of work was awarded the prize of the mayor of the city of Martin during the Friday gala. It was from the experience of Gizela Ferenczova that Kalisz seniors could benefit.
In Martin, as in Kalisz, local elections will take place this year. There are also 8 candidates for the position of mayor (primator). Martin's residents will go to the polls on November 10.
