Internationally at Tarasin's

The vernissages of two exhibitions took place at noon at the Jan Tarasin Art Gallery. Today, Kalisz residents Michał Mąka and Anna Bakow and Osman Bol - artists from the German Hamm, a partner city of Kalisz, presented their work.

The work of Michał Mąka "Flora" is part of the "Digital Antique" series, combining inspirations of modern digital art with the image of classic, ancient sculptures. The whole cycle encourages the viewer to reflect on the multidimensional space of abstraction and artistic truth. The "Flora" itself refers to the statue standing in the patio of the Kalisz town hall.

The exhibition of Anna Bakow and Osman Bol "Meetings" is, in addition to the opportunity to learn the art of contemporary artists from Germany, also an opportunity to recall the long-term cooperation of Kalisz and Hamm, which was mentioned at the vernissage by the leaders of both partner centers.

- I am very happy that we were able to prepare this exhibition together with our partners from Germany. This is not the first joint cultural project. The mural painted by artists from Kalisz and Hamm is ready. I hope that this cooperation, also in the cultural field, will develop as well as possible - said President Krystian Kinastowski.

Kalisz and the German city of Hamm have been cooperating with each other for many thirty years.

- Thirty years ago we were very lucky to have signed a partnership agreement with Kalisz. This partnership is not only a document, but also actual cooperation, as evidenced by numerous mutual visits and joint projects, of which I am very happy - said Manfred Lindemann, vice mayor of Hamm during the opening.

Anna Bakow presented her sculptures as part of the 'Meetings' exhibition. As the author herself admitted, she builds relations between man and nature in her works. Her works refer very much to the human life turn. On the other hand, Osman Bol showed Tarasin his extremely realistic paintings, in which he reflects himself in various, seemingly everyday situations. However, they have strong emotions.
