30 years have passed

Official visit to Hamm is paid by representatives of the municipality of Kalisz headed by the city authorities and Professor Krzysztof Walczak, who signed the partnership agreement of our cities 30 years ago as the then chairman of the City Council.

An opportunity to meet with German partners is a summary of the past 30 years of cooperation. The jubilee celebrations in Kalisz took place in September last year. The visit planned for December 2021 had to be postponed for epidemiological reasons.
Yesterday, the inhabitants of Kalisz visited the most important places in Hamm. In the Spa Park, they saw an exhibition of photographs showing Kalisz, which started in September, and in Maxipark, they visited the interior of tha glass elephant.
The program also included a visit to a zoo and an animal shelter as well as a meeting with representatives of associations closely cooperating with our city: the Cultural Bridge and the Hamm International Club.
Today, officials visited a sports kindergarten and one of the largest ongoing investments - the development of the banks of the canal and the Lippe River, and the new connection between the quay and the center.
In the afternoon, a visit to the Creative District is planned - a post-industrial, post-mining district, the buildings of which are partially under conservation protection. Its revitalization is in progress: buildings are being renovated, undeveloped areas will be restored, and the aim is to create a unique place for culture, art, creative, hotel and gastronomic services.
A formal meeting with the authorities of Hamm and Sabine Zech, former mayor, linked to the Golden Book entry, will take place this evening.
