Guests of the State Music School were teachers and students of the Municipal Music School in Hamm: Birgit Eckel - piano teacher, Philipp George Marquardt - head of the accordion, flute and harp, Dagmar Smalla - head of the flute and Inken Grefer, Mila Kreienfeld and Aaron Nachtigall. At the time, young musicians lived with their colleagues' families, thus getting to know their weekday, eating meals together and playing music together.
The Kalisz School of Music invited its guests to cooperate with a joint concert entitled "A concert for a good start", which took place on Thursday, November 22. The event was attended by President Krystian Kinastowski, who was sworn in that day and Vice President Mateusz Podsadny. The Mayor of the City of Kalisz listened attentively to the performances of Polish and German artists. In a short speech he welcomed representatives of the city of Hamm and gave them symbolic gifts, while Uwe Sauerland, director of the Hamm City Council Office, gave Krystian Kinastowski a congratulatory letter from Thomas Hunsteger-Petermann, mayor of Hamm.
Both Polish and German students of music schools contributed to the Friday concert of the Kalisz Philharmonic. In an interview, between the Mass of Joseph Haydn and the Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, they presented their skills in playing string instruments, recorders and singing.
At the same time, Tanja Prill, an artist, also visited Kalisz. She will be the co-author of the mural project planned for 2019. The coordinator of this project is Piotr Bigora, director of the "Water Tower" Plastic Culture Center. The meeting of interested parties was led by Grażyna Dziedziak, head of the Department of Culture and Art, Sport and Tourism of the Kalisz University.
Uwe Sauerland used his visit to discuss several other projects. In June next year, it is planned to open an exhibition of two artists from Hamm at the Art Gallery Jan Tarasin. Therefore, guests were invited to an interview with Joanna Dudek, director of the Gallery.
