Music Market with the Ukulele Strummers Society

The British band "Ukulele Strummers Society" from Preston, the partner city of Kalisz, performed today as part of the Music Market. The concert was graced by the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the two cities celebrated this year.

On Friday evening, at 19:00, the band from England played on stage in front of the town hall. The artists, together with the residents - a group of almost thirty people - who brought their ukulele, played Bob Dylan's song "Knockin 'on Heaven’s Door".

Earlier, guests from Preston took part in workshops preparing for concerts together. They were held in the auditorium of the 1st High School Adam Asnyk. They were organized by the Music Store Music School, operating on the Kalisz music market for 28 years, teaching instrument playing, conducting singing and dancing classes and giving concerts. The workshop was led by Piotr Kowalski.

 The group "Ukulele Strummers Society" can also be heard on Saturday - at 11:30 at the fountain "Nights and Days" and at 17:15 at Rozmark.

 Guests from Preston, in addition to touring in Kalisz, also visited our city. On Friday, they met with representatives of the city authorities.
