Preston and Kalisz celebrated their 30th anniversary

On September 7 and 8, Kalisz was visited by an official delegation from Preston's partner: Mayor - David Borrow, accompanying him Stacey Thoburn, head of office - Adrian Phillips and Trisha Rollo and Brian Rollo - former mayor - both of Preston Twinning Partnerships.

The opportunity to meet in Kalisz was the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Kalisz and Preston this year. Official ceremonies were held on Sunday, September 8 at the town hall. In addition to the city authorities and representatives of the City Council: Krystian Kinastowski, Grzegorz Kulawinek, dr inż. Janusz Pęcherz and Mirosław Gabrysiak were also attended by Mariusz Witczak - head of the Education Department, Izabela Grześkiewicz - head of the Revitalization Office, dr Joanna Dudek - director of the J. Tarasina gallery, Jakub Seydak - photographer, Monika Napadłek from the International Cooperation Bureau of PWSZ and representatives of the First Kalisz Golf Club: Katarzyna Mak - vice president and Lech Natkowski - captain.
After the official part, guests spent time on work talks. The topic of revitalization, presented by Izabela Grześkiewicz, enjoyed particular interest on their part. Preston representatives presented cooperation proposals for pupils and students, artists and athletes.

Mayor David Borrow along with the rest of the delegation visited Kalisz on a vintage bus, looked at the collections gathered in the Treasury, heard the history of the Dorotka Tower and saw Prosna from a motorboat perspective. On Saturday, on Niecała Street, they had the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of Kalisz from the 19th and 20th centuries, and in the evening they could see Kalisz actors in the premiere performance "Man from Oklahoma".
