In addition to participating in official celebrations, representatives of a friendly city spent time with players of the Rugby Club Husaria Kalisz to exchange professional experiences. Representatives of the Kalisz hussars visited the town hall tower, the archeological reserve in Zawodzie and the museum of Osiakowskich. On Friday evening, guests participated in a solemn session of the Kalisz City Council. Saturday was solely under the sign of rugby. At 11.00, trainer Malcolm Alden led a one and a half hour training session for seniors, which was also attended by players from friendly clubs from Wolsztyn, Śrem, Zduńska Wola and Jarocin. Then a friendly match was played, whose second half, as well as the post-match briefing of the coach had the opportunity to watch representatives of the city authorities: president Grzegorz Sapiński, chairman of the city council Andrzej Plichta, vice presidents - Barbara Gmerek and Tomasz Rogoziński and Małgorzata Zarzycka, councilor of the City Council of Kalisz. In the afternoon coach Alden led the training of Kalisz youngsters, and in the evening both representatives of the "Hoppers" were invited to watch the rugby match Wales vs. Argentina. The meeting passed during talks about plans for the future of both clubs.

- We've met wonderful people with great coaching and organizational experience. They gave us lots of tips on how to develop our club. We are pleased that after the Saturday match the guests personally congratulated the city authorities on the beautiful object, but also drew attention to the need to renovate the building at Majkowski Wembley. I am sure that this is the beginning of a very good cooperation between our clubs. Now we need to assess our possibilities, mainly financial, to go to the 150th anniversary of the Grasshoppers RFC club next year. It would be a great experience and a very good promotion for our city - said the secretary of KR Husaria Kalisz Szczepan Zentel.

It is worth adding that in 2019 the Grasshoppers club from Preston will celebrate the 150th anniversary. On this occasion, an international tournament will be held, to which Kalisz players received an invitation in April this year.
