The visit took place over the weekend of 14 -17 June as part of the partnership between the two cities of Kalisz and La Louvière, which has been ongoing for 26 years. Our city was represented by a delegation which consisted of Piotr and Iwona Maciejewscy, Damian Bugajny and Edyta Marciniak. As is tradition, the runners from Klub SUPERMARATON KALISZ took part in the Jogging La Louvière running competition during their stay, which took place on Sunday, 16 June. The run was held over 3 distances, 6 km, 11 km and 21 km. Runners from Kalisz chose this middle distance - 11 km. Edyta Marciniak, with a time of 48:28 min, took 10th place in the Women's OPEN and 6th place in the Al1 age category, i.e. 35-44 y.o.; Damian Bugajny, with a time of 51:42 min, took 153rd place in the OPEN and 38th place in the VE1 category, i.e. 40-49 y.o.; and Piotr Maciejewski, with a time of: 1:19:10 achieved 775th place in the OPEN and 10th place in the VE4 category, i.e. 70+ y.o.;. Approximately 900 people took part in the 11 km run.

During their stay, the delegation also attended meetings with representatives of the local authorities, led by the city mayor Jacques Gobert, representatives of the local Polish community, Edward and Michał Janowski, and local runners. During these meetings, promotional souvenirs of our city, provided by the Office of the Mayor of Kalisz, were delivered.
