Kalisz has a museum that collects exhibits not only from the city, but also from the nearby area. It belongs to the oldest museum establishments in the country. It was created in 1900, and in 1975 raised to its current rank. Its collections include archaeological, ethnographic, historical, art monuments, as well as a collection of African exhibits from expeditions to this continent of an explorer from Kalisz - Stefan Szolc - Rogoziński.
The museum includes also:
- Center for Drawing and Graphics T. Kulisiewicza at ul. Kolegialna 4,
- Archaeological Reserve '' Kaliski Gród Piastów '' in Zawodzie (where historical events are organized, such as: ''Archaeological Fair'', ''Piast Feast'' and others),
- Maria Dąbrowska's manor in Russów (in which '' Niedziela 'u Niechciców' 'are organized, referring to the theme of' 'Nights and days'' novel).
