1. The journey through the history of Kalisz – multimedia exhibition in the city hall

The multimedia exhibition tells the story of the historical and cultural heritage of Kalisz and the region. It’s located in the city hall – the tour starts in the basement chambers, guides you through the corridors of the third floor before inviting you to see the clock tower and the viewing terrace at its top. Let yourself be surrounded by the history, narrated by digital audioguides available in Polish, English, and German.

2.The squirrels of Kalisz – can you find them all?

Red fur, bushy ears, fluffy tail and a craving for nuts – the squirrel has long been considered a symbol of the Kalisz City Park. The friendly rodents have recently been immortalized in the form of bronze figurines placed in some key locations across the city centre. Take a stroll and see what all of them are up to!

3. Kalisz of the Piast Dynasty

Of all the cities in Poland, Kalisz has the oldest written record of its history. It is believed to have been mentioned by Ptolemy as Calisia as early as in the 2nd century AD. Discover its history by seeing the reconstructed Slavic settlement of Zawodzie and explore some of the oldest building in the city.
